winter solstice prayer tree
Trees are regarded as sacred. They symbolize the three Worlds. HEAVEN with Their leaves, the HUMAN Realm with their Trunk, and MOTHER EARTH with her Roots. They are seen as the conduit between Heaven and earth and are special places for Prayer and speaking to the universe. Trees are a powerful Place for prayer and meditation. In Shamanic Traditions they would Pick a Tree for Prayer during the Winter Solstice and perform this ritual every year and i’d like to share it with you so we can keep this Tradition alive!
First Pick a tree in a forest that is dear to you. invoke a Prayer unto the tree and make a traditional offering; could be a prayer, ring bells, sing to it, clap around the tree, or offer some stones in honor of the trees spirit while asking the tree to carry your prayers to the heavens and bring them into manifestation here on earth.
once the Tree has been blessed, each person will take a ribbon and write a message for the winter solstice/ Affirmation / a message to a loved one. Or if you would rather speak your message into the ribbon you can do this also. Then take a deep breath in and blow your breath out into the ribbon.
When writing or speaking your message feel your words from the heart. put all your emotions into that ribbon, become ONE with your message; and then loosely tie the Ribbon onto the branches of the Tree.
To finalize the Ritual, join hands with the others you are doing the ritual with make a circle around the tree, and show gratitude to the tree by Thanking it, Singing a song, or a closing prayer.
as your Ribbons hang from the branches they become Empowered by the Elements. The prayers, affirmations, and messages are carried by the winds, energized by the sun and starlight, activated by the rain and snow and Strengthened by the Earth.
growing in the light
as your awareness grows so does the light within you. this is not a figure of speech but a very literal explanation. when we say raising our awareness it really should be understood as not raising but going within. we are always looking at the reward before we give gratitude to what made that possible. we can only raise equal to how deep we can ground into ourself. there is always a cause and effect how far you go inwards is how far you can go outwards. the most valuble gift we have is ourselves the more we know ourselves inside the more we know everyone and everything outside. before i can emotionally connect to a flower i need to know why it is i like flowers. for as well as i know myself and why, is as well as ill be able to connect and experience with the flower. if i think well i know why i like flowers in general then my connection will be general and not with the specific flower in front of me. im asking for connection with how i look to think upon things. that connection will only become greater as i know myself and have good reason as to why i like things and i can only know why i like things from connection and experience. always see the bright side and ask yourself why it is you may not like something what is the reason you dont like a particular food is it the texture the taste ask yourself why is it you dont like that taste do you say “casue i just dont” and never care to know yourself further or you dont know how to know yourself further in that way. these are the questions that will help you go within, the answers are there and more incredible then you could ever have imagined. look at the answer you give yourself when you say you don’t like something are you full of shit with poor excuses or do you think you make sense and why? this is a truth of all things. are you ever right when you separate yourself from something or are you just being the individual you are? who are you as an individual if you give yourself reason to seperate from others. sometimes we can get ahead of ourselves trying to do the right thing but we dont know why its right as well as we may try to act. we dont know ourselves well enough we just know whats right. When we give answer ahead of ourselves in general we do it cause we are trying not to seperate in thought from things, always seeing the brighter side. but how strong is our conviction this is where we can begin to know whats right but not have given ourselves enough reason as to why we know that to begin with. what lead us in this space of knowing right without reason?
when we allow ourselves to let go reaaly its us letiing go of the shields over our heart. we create shields when we are not honest will ourselves "the saying we cant handle the truth is true in these moments if we let it be true. we must have the strength to look ourselves in the eyes in all the spaces of thought we entertain and be honest enough to begin to ask the questions why do we like something that may be uncomfortable to admit we like to begin with. when we have the strength to face ourself and ask these questions honestly through acceptance of it being a truth we begin to heal and find answers. but if we blame other than ourselves or don’t want to see ourselves that way why we should ask is that? this is the road to raising your awareness. its related to spirituality but that can get confusing thinking there more to it than just facing ourselves in the mirror being honest with ourselves and knowing why we care to be honest with ourselves in the first place. this is the truest strength i know.
Ive have been doing this inner work for a few years now and it become easy for me to face myself ask the questions and find the right answers but i still struggle having the awareness to do it that im doing simply because i know its right so in the bigger picture im still struggling to know myself. there are levels to going inwards and as you go inward your able to connect further outwards. this is the planes of consciousness. these terms all are describing the process of going within and knowing yourself, cause and effect. we look to often at the reward the Affect. why don’t we see the real reward as the ability to go within and knowing how this is the gift.
the more awareness you let in the more responsibility we be asked of you to hold the Light. sometimes certain thoughts will physically make me tremble, this is because there is so much energy i personally dont know how to balance the energy of the thought with a single perspective these are the moments s i dont know myself well enough and things get literally shaky. with my own thoughts, there are also times a point that i feel i give good thought to a idea but still i look at my emotions and body in a light tremble which tells me i need to workout more and become physically stronger to hold the energy of certain thoughts. these are the sights that i look at and say wow to myself this is amazing look how this asks more of me in all ways. this is where i step up to the plate. i also observe how certain thoughts will make me move and manerism. diffrent facial expressions different moments with my body all are being influenced by the energy of the thought sometimes i even notice how i move in a way that not my movement it a friends the way i see them have moved or manerised before. patterns of physical movement we have used to bring balance to the energy. this is where we can see how important body movement and arts of movement like martial arts chigong, tai chi, hand mudras are.
Chi Gong
all practices that help us observe ourselves in all ways are nessary to continue your journey inwards. sitting down to stretch and feeling my muscles my body saying to myself damn im tight i want to be able to strech better are the moments i feel most with myself and at peace. a comfort of home within myself. im also challenged to protect that space of peace within myself when i ask more of myself and do things i dont know how to. i feel this is why we fear it. we fear giving up that space of mental stabilty by seeing ourselves struggle or fail at something. i embrace these moments and dont fear not being good i fear being comfortable enough to not feel i need to do more. chi gong challenges me in all ways possible i look to get the movements and positions right while also looking how i know what further right is that may be beyond what im being shown physically. how do i know that im supposed to feel this way with this move. the posotions ask for excellence emotionally mentally and physically. sometimes i can do one and not another well. this is where i feel best i love to challenge the limits of myself and let in all my suck so i can see how to be great!
Meditation
Im Fairly new to mediation but it is a practice that has become necessary for me as my awareness grows emotionally and mentally. as you grow more conscious of your emotional space you become aware of everything that's affecting you there. the spiritual world is vast and meditation has become necessary to keep my feet on the ground and make it easier for me to have control in that space. anytime your thoughts are outside yourself so are your feelings this is where you can be vonrable to the feeling and thoughts of others. being able to ground into yourself and be present is where your most protected and be sure your not taking action in that way with that intention as much as that may be true you need better reason. the most subtle change in intention makes a big deal. having a good reason for doing the right thing is always going to be stronger than just the action itself. you don’t want to lose yourself or your natural reasons for doing things once you become aware of the energy behind the curtain that’s pulling all the strings. having more awareness of how things work now takes more responsibility of knowing why your doing what your doing with your energy. meditation is a practice i try to do 3 days a week to help me establish more self-control and strength emotionally. self-reflection during meditation is for me, also necessary. as you climb consciously it will ask more reason of you to be in that space of awareness just knowing its real or right doesnt cut it. really knowing yourself and why your there is necessary to belong there. i started my journey into consciousness having no idea it would be how it is once your there it all makes sense everything interconnects but until your aware, you don’t know what you don’t know no matter how good you are at rationalizing possibilities. That’s why realizations feel surprising and rationalizing doesn’t. realization allows you a perspective of experience.
spending time within myself is what’s needed for me to build the balance back in my instincts from having spent time outside myself making realizations consciously. take my advice grow your awareness in balance by using practices like meditation, chi gong or a form of martial arts from the start if your planning to grow consciouly. be careful, you don’t want that to be your intention. that’s why you make it a practice before your awareness gets ahead of you. knowing why you want balance is required knowing its better is not inspiring. you need mental reasons that can claim the size of your emotional energy if you cant no one cares how big you can express emotionally if you dont know why you are. you would be asking for a break and for people to look past that, again not inspiring. i struggle with all this myself. we are all one but we are all different as well and being an individual and having your own reasons you believe in will always make you stronger in the collective, inspire people and yourself forward with the reasons you have for loving yourself.
once you connect your thoughts to your emotions it’s crucial you keep control of your thoughts. others will try to use your space of awareness for themselves. trying to make sense to them that its not right for them to do that doesn’t always work. what happens when they do not want to listen or try. you have to have control in your space. things aren’t always fair as above so below you need to be strong. creating a routine can help you do this it keeps your thoughts able to look forward to what you have to do next. for me it’s only when i don’t know what im doing next from a lack of routine where i see im vulnerable in my thoughts and feelings or where i lack conviction for what and why im doing something. you always want to look forward. the same habits daily allowed me to build stronger convictions and break the habits of my thoughts looking backwards which is what i did to grow my level of awareness figuring things out and making realizations. where now i need to gain control of my awareness by bringing back the balance in the direction of my thinking. before i can responsibly go forward realizing more.
meditation helps me to do that. there’s many ways meditation can be used it’s a great tool to create balance, strength and growth within yourself. for me i was always outside myself thinking so i use meditation to spend time with my awareness in myself, resisting my thoughts from drifting, even now i struggle writing this, overthinking should i make this point, is it to much will people understand? what’s the best way people will understand, all no good cause im too influenced by others reasons rather than having my own.
when meditating i pay more attention to seeing my body sitting there from behind my eyes, looking at my legs crossed, feeling them crossed, feeling my breath, feeling my chest expand but still trying not to overthink any of this. it’s a gentle balance that i’ve yet to master. resisting my instincts to emotionalize the experience in a larger way by making my feelings symbolically bigger mentally. just trying without trying to keep things simple grounded and within myself.
meditation can also be used to grow your awareness as opposed to help ground it. allowing your thoughts and feelings to drift naturally, expanding experience. something common in meditation is to expand the feeling of space around you while creating stillness and being present within yourself. i personally can do both separately but at the same time, it becomes harder to hold that stillness and expansion because when i let my awareness outside myself to create the feelings of expansion and stillness it wants to continue to see more and do more. some of the best meditation experts have mastered themselves in both ways inwardly and outwardly which allows them the ability to expand the feeling of space around them but still be very grounded present and still within themselves, creating and controlling their space. when i expand the space around me in meditation i usually mentally do it from a birds eye view (not in myself) and as much as i can create the feeling and visual mentally im not in myself while doing it. when we express experience emotionally it’s easier when your thoughts aren’t grounded within yourself. having the same feeling while being present in thought within yourself is a whole different story. i Try to stay within myself while meditating although it’s difficult for me i try different methods that help me.
clearing my chakras is one way that helps me to focus on something within my physical self. there’s always a fine balance between thinking to draw your focus and overthinking by realizing what your doing, where you begin to come out of balance again. listen to the thought of your feelings it will always lead you right.
(eFT) emotional freedom technique
emotional freedom technique is a body taping technique that puts pressure on the pathways and centers of your energy meridians. This releases pressure in your Lymphatic system. The pressure gets Released through one of the exit points. I’ve identified three the ears, nose and throat. the experience of when this happens through the ears is similar to when your ears pop being in high altitude and you clear them, this is air pressure being Released from the Lymphatic system. when Released through the nose you’ll feel a small pop and decompression within it. the throat is experienced as a gargle in the back of your throat feeling the air come up. when we release pressure in this way it activates the Amygdala the fight or flight system in your brain. this sends a signal to the body that its safe. you can observe when this take place within you when you have a induced deep breath come on. the centers and pathways can be found using a traditional chinese medicine meridian chart. these centers i’ve found to just be your lymph nodes and the pathways the lines of the Lymphatic system. i haven’t been able to find many people that make this association between the lymphatic system (eft) and chinese and other ancient meridian charts all being the same thing, the Lymphatic system. The lymphatic system (lim-FAT-ik) is part of the immune system. It keeps fluid levels in balance and defends the body against infections. Lymphatic vessels, tissues, organs, and glands work together to drain a watery fluid called lymph from the body. it’s also our bodies energy system that carries energy to all the organs and parts of our bodies. the fluid that passes through are lymphatic lines works the same way the lay lines of the earth work. the movement of the fluid creates friction which creates the energy, chi or prana. the lay lines of earth are just underwater streams and create energy in the same way. giving us a look at the Multiple micro/macro levels of truth in this created system of energy that exist in us and within the planet as a individual. this energy created from the body is different than what we would consider our soul. this is the system of the body that creates emotion. when we feel emotions physically its being created by the movement and pressure of this fluid. having emotions that are high in tension contracts this system and compresses the fluid which creates pockets of air in the system. the air gets pulled in from outside body when the system contracts due to emotional tension. when we tap we release the air pressure and decompress the system. this is what activates the signal sent to the brain that we are safe the decompression of our lymphatic system. our bodies are able to Balance our inner cavity pressure with the external Environment keeping our inner and outer worlds in balance, when balance isn’t kept there’s stress. when we tap we Agitate and persuade these trapped pockets of air to rise and release through one of the exits ear, nose and throat. where its Released depends on the area bein tapped. think of it like tapping the side of a bottle of soda and watching the air bubbles rise. its a Hydraulic pressure system of energy within us. we can Manually control the pressure within it just by tapping. which persuades the air to rise and Release. by unblocking the lines and centers of any trapped air within them that allows the energy to pass freely and cleanly to all the parts of the body. i was skeptical when i first heard about tapping and the emotional freedom Technique but it caught the ear of my intuition and i wanted to try it anyways. i’m glad i did because its been three years since then and i’ve tapped everyday since. i will keep it as a daily practice for the rest of my life now having realized its Benefits. it makes a incredible difference over time. it took me about three months of tapping faithfully before i really could realize the significant positive Change it brings physically and emotionally. it also works well for minor aches and pains. i came to realize that the pain was just a result of pressure in that particular area. by tapping on and around the soar area the trapped air causing the pressure will move and the pain subside.
the Emotional freedom technique is an evidence based self help therapeutic method with over a 100 studies that demonstrate it’s efficiency. i would encourage everone to make this a daily practice in there life. it’s made a significant difference in my life and know it will do the same for anyone that gives it a chance.
since it’s inception in 1995 (EFT) has been a extensively investigated for anxiety and depression. a Controlled study Involving university students Separated into two groups one told to practice mindful breathing, the other to practice tapping (eft) reported finding the (eft) group to have more significant increases in enjoyment, hope and pride.
another study done by 216 healthcare workers that self applied tapping (eft) for anxiety, Depression, pain and cravings reported significant improvements in all of the subjected areas of distress.
use the chart i’ve attached to help identify the centers to tap on. when tapping you want to listen for the way it sounds when your on a center or pocket of trapped air it will sound hollow like tapping on a drum this will let you know your in the right spot. adjusting how hard you tap will also help move the air and fluid. you’ll also notice when tapping that the Fluid will drain into your stomach. this fluid contains the toxins left behind from foods. i will usually tap before bed for about ten minutes and Periodically through out the day if a minor pain arises. it’s also a good idea to tap after experiencing a Situation high in emotional tension, positive emotions can carry tension it’s not just a positive negative understanding. for example excitement is a emotion high in tension. i hope you’ll find this technique and advice to be helpful and experience the Incredible change it can make in your life and self empowers us all to learn and share more about ourselves.
happy tapping!
